Farmer's Markets

There are two municipal farmers markets nearby, and a variety of small farms and orchards that sell direct to consumers.

Charles Town has a farmers market that runs from 9 am through noon on Saturdays during the growing season. Shepherstown's Market is on Sundays and runs from 9 am through 1 pm. Both feature locally grown produce, local meats and cheeses, and other value-added products made from local ingredients.

Another avenue to investigate is the wineries in Virginia's piedmont. Several wineries outside Hillsboro, Virginia are less than 30 minutes from here. All offer on-site sales and wine tasting.
